Installed SSD into XPS M1210 - - WOW!

I just recently installed a Kingston "SSD Now III" 240 Gb solid state drive into my aging Dell XPS M1210.  I have had a HItachi 200 Gb 7200 RPM drive in this PC for several years, and have upgraded to Windows 7 (32 bit) and raised the memory to the full complement of 4 Gb (maximum).  The increase in performance is absolutely amazing; the PC now boots from "OFF" to full useability in about 20 seconds - - fully three to four times faster than it was. The drive works flawlessly, though I have made several observations regarding it and the PCs operation since I installed it.

1.  The PC runs a bit hotter.  Monitoring the CPU throughput and temperature, I've noticed that the SSD seems to put more information into the processor more quickly than the HDD did - - percentage of CPU throughput is higher, and the operating temp of the processor seems to be proportional to this.  Idle temp (with the CPU usage at or less than 5% is low - about 37 - 40 degrees C).  It has gone as high as 65 degrees C momentarily with near 100% throughput, thus, with this old a laptop PC, it is essential that there is good or new heat sink compound between the CPU and the heat sink system or you'll cook the CPU in short order.

2.  I've noticed that some disk utility software or does not properly identify the SDD as a primary, logical drive.  Norton Ghost 15.0 seems to work.

3.  There may be other issues I've not yet identified, but will post back here, should I identify some.

For now, this was a great upgrade for a still highly useable, though aging laptop computing platform and gives me all the more reason not to go out (yet) and buy a newer machine.
