I have XPS/Dimension 9150 with two 160GB HDD's in a raid0 configuration. I get three errors on the same message blocks on the Read Test and the Verify Test using F12 Dell Diagnostics>Blue Sceen Test.
Read Test
Error Code 0F00:0244 Msg Block 98618324: Uncorrectable data error or media is write protected.
Error Code 0F00:0244 Msg Block 98619252: Same statement
Error Code 0F00:0244 Msg Block 98621262: Same statement
Verify Test I get fail test on the same three Msg Blocks only with
Error Code 0F00:1A44 Same statement. The blue screen that promted me to run test was; Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

Stop: 0X00000000A (0x00000016, 0x0000001C, 0X00000000, 0x80502E84) And it said it might be related to a hardware problem. I had to do a hard shutdown.
This is on disk0 that has partions for the diagnostic test and Dell System Restore. Could these errors be caused because the diagnostic partion was in use, or these blocks are write protected or Norton AV has a virus locked up here? I also read Hibernate mode reserves an area on the HDD to store files from memory to start back up from. I ran all Dell and windows based harddrive tests and showed no problems. Sorry for the long post but I want to upgrade to windows 7 and add 2GBs of ram, if the hardrive is bad, it won't be worth the money. Thanks Alot
