Drive 0 on my XPS 8500 has 5 partitions in this order: an unlabeled 39 MB; Recovery 15.25 GB; Win7pro C: Files D: and Win8.1 G: ( I installed Win8 since it only cost $15 just prior to it's introduction and Dell gave me a $15 credit when I purchased the machine in Oct 2012.)
What is in the unlabeled partition? The Dell Diagnostics software? The recovery options (F8)? When I right click on it in Disk Management it only show a "Help" option rather than others like "Properties" for other partitions.
And I assume the MBR is in the Win7 partition. Correct?
I'm contemplation installing a SSD for the OS's to increase boot speed and want to understand what that little bugger is up to! Thanks.
