Disk Error Problems With A 512GB SSD On A Dell XPS 14 L421X UltraBook Computer

On a brand-new high-dollar XPS 14  L421X UltraBook with a 512GB OEM Samsung (I think) SSD everything was working fine until recently, when the drive started throwing-up the dreaded "Disk Error" type messages warning that file corruption has been detected and saying that (barring user interruption) a disk check will be run, which never happens.  Now I know about TRIM and some of the other error-correction stuff on SSDs but this problem will just not go away.  It continues to happen every time the computer is booted, but doesn't ever seem to "fix itself" even after several weeks now.  Otherwise the unit operates normally and you might be tempted to just ignore the problem, except for one disturbing thing:  Up until recently it was always able to make periodic backups to a new Western Digital "My World Book" gigabit NAS drive using the built-in Windows 7 Pro backup program.  Now it refuses to run (even though the backup drive is mapped and the computer has full access to all the files & folders on it) and it reports that various files and folders cannot be backed-up (most notably the document folder from Word 13) due to "file corruption" of some sort.  It does not specify the exact nature of the problem but it is undoubtedly related to the disk error messages that occur at boot time.

The computer did not have this problem originally; as stated, it just started a short time ago and for no apparent reason.  The unit has not been off the desk and no new programs have been loaded on it nor has it had any other apparent problems.

The question is now this:  How can I run the SSD equivalent of check-disk on it, since it's a solid state drive?  Obviously the internal circuitry which is supposed to fix this sort of thing is not working properly or I wouldn't be experiencing these problems.

An SSD is scary-enough already and with this sort of data-corruption and not being able to make a backup of the files on it, failure could happen at any moment and all would be lost.

Advise please on what utility to use to correct a file corruption problem such as this...

Thank you.
