I haven't been able to find explicit directions for this process. The existing RAID 1 drive has 3 partitions on it. I have new 1Tb drives from Dell which I would like to use to replace the existing 320Gb drives and end up with a significantly larger C: drive. I can backup the existing 3 partitions and replace the drives easily enough but it's not clear how to partition the new RAID 1 1Tb drive before restoring the C:, D: and E: partitions from the old 320Gb RAID 1 drive.
If someone could point me to an existing post with the necessary directions that would be great, otherwise, a set of directions would be helpful.
One alternative which was implied in some of the posts I read was to change out 1 of the hard drives and use the Intel RAID Controller Console to rebuild the drive. Then repeat the process with the other new hard drive in the other hard drive bay. This will supposedly result in unallocated space on both hard drives which can then be allocated to the C: drive using partitioning software such as Partition Magic.
