I would like to install a second internal solid state hard drive in a Optiplex 9020. I do not want to use these two drives as a RAID pair. I want a second drive to be stand alone for data storage. Do I have to set the Bios to ATA for the second hard drive to be initilized? I set the BIOS to AHCI and the operating system booted but the second drive was not available in the directory. I set the BIOS to ATA and Windows would not boot. The warning was true. Set the BIOS back to RAID and we were back to square one. Do I need to leave the BIOS set to ATA and reload the operating sysem to have two independant drives C: and D:?
