Is my computer capable of supporting a Blu Ray rewriter?

I have a Dell Inspiron 1564 laptop.

It has a Intel Core i5 processor, 4GB RAM and 500GB hard disk.  It only has an internal DVD rewriter fitted however.

I would like to add an external/portable  Blu Ray rewriter so that I can store high quality photographs and video from my Sony SLT A57 camera.

Can anyone tell me if my current computer will support a device and should I be looking for anything in particular?

This looks as though it will do the job and it isn't too expensive.
