I prefer the Windows 8.1 Start Menu over Windows 10 and also enjoy the lack of ads in the start menu, so I wanted to install Windows 8.1 on my new Dell Laptop.
When I attempted to do a fresh install Windows 8.1 on my Dell Inspiron 3000 14 model 3452, It gave me an error in the installation process that it an operating system couldn't be booted from this hard drive and an option to install Drivers during the install. Further researching the problem, I noticed someone had a similar problem installing Windows 7 on SSD drives and was able to load Intel RST drivers during the Windows install. I tried doing the same but Windows Install still didn't recognize the drive.
