The hard drive on my Dell Studio 1558 laptop is password protected (I know the password) however the motherboard on the machine has failed.
I have removed the hard drive and placed it into a caddy and connected the caddy to a new laptop and/or my old OptiPlex desktop.
Neither machine will read the drive in file explorer. If I check to drives using computer management I find that the drive is not recognised.
How can I get the drive read by either my new or old machines so I can recover my data.
The Dell studio and my OptiPlex both are running Windows 7 professional 64 bit my new laptop is running Windows 10 home.
