Hello,
I have a PowerEdge T110 II server with PERC S100.
I have a virtual disk configured in RAID 1, which is currently degraded. The other disk has failed and I replaced it, but gives an error when rebuild the RAID because it detects errors in the source disk. I checked it and found that the disk with data has some bad sectors.
Due to disk errors I can't also do a full backup. It also fails in the middle with reading errors. And so I can't also install a new disk and do a restore.
I've tried chkdsk /spotfix but does not seem to have solved the problem.
I also tried to clone the disc with Acronis, which made the successful cloning despite having raise errors reading some sectors, which I chosen the option to ignore. However the system does not detect it as a boot disk and it doesn't start. I checked the drive on another PC, and it appears as Active and Primary Partition, but not as Boot or System. It also has only one partition that appears with all the space as free(!), and also has some MB unallocated (corresponding to the bad sectors?!).
The server is running Windows 2012 R2, and the disk C: is encrypted with Bitlocker.
Any suggestions how to solve this problem? I want to replace the damaged disc with a good one, but I want to keep data and the server functional.
Regards,
Pedro
