Hi - I tried a System Restore due to permission errors on some folders (a separate issue) and the System Restore could not complete and recommended running CHKDSK /R, which I did. The CHKDSK hung up on Step #4 and then I ran the Dell Support Assist HDD Test, which indicated an error of WHD13-PPP on the SMART Extended Self Test. It further indicated that failure could be imminent and recommended replacing the HDD. I have a Seagate ST31500341AS 1.5TB drive.
I was reading on the forum to view available replacement options and noticed that some posters indicated that the Intel RST could cause issues if not updated. My version is 9.5.0.1037 (2009) vs. 14.8.0.1042 (2015) available online.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
