Hi,
I have a Dell XPS 8300 from 2010 that I've upgraded with a Samsung 1TB SSD and an EVGA GeForce GTX750 Ti graphic card. Everything was fine until the latest round of Microsoft Updates on April 14 when I could not install (KB3045999) - Security Update for Windows 7 for x64-based systems.
I tried System Restore several but it always came back as incomplete potentially due to anti-virus software. I turned off Iolo System Mechanic Pro's System Shield and Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware to no avail, going back several previous version all the way to early March.
I then, de-installed System Mechanic Pro completely and it still failed. I then tried to do System Restore in Safe Mode and that's where it failed to even boot up asking me to put my installation disk. I then tried F12 to get it to Fix Itself but the error message said it couldn't and I did a diagnostic test of my hardware and memory and it passes all the tests.
I tried to ask it to restore the system to factory settings and it said the file is either missing or corrupt. I was wondering if there is a way for me to download the installation disk so I can burn it to a CD on another pc to hopefully reboot my XPS8300. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
