hard drive error code

My son has an Inspiron 15 laptop with a 500GB SATA hard drive.   It is a little over 2 years old and is

lightly used.

Recently, it would not boot to Windows.   I was able to run the Dell built-in diagnostics, and all tests passed,

except for the hard drive.   Message returned says Error Code:  2000-0151; validation 19717; hard drive incorrect status=3E.

Any ideas on this, other than replacing the hard drive?
