I've been struggling with my PC and hoping that someone could give me some advice on this issue. I have a Dell Optiplex 745 running Windows 7 and Ubuntu. Whenever I try to boot my machine it brings up the Dell logo with loading bar and the option of pressing F2 or F12. I understand that the issue lies in my machine trying to boot a nonexistent drive, but the catch is that pressing F2 does nothing for me. I have already done some googling and tried a few things that seemed to work for other people, such as:
- Replaced CMOS battery
- Reseatted RAM
- Power cycled the pc
I saw one instance where a user was using a keyboard that was not dell brand so they purchased a dell keyboard and that seemed to work - the machine wasn't able to load the off brand drivers. So I just purchased a dell brand keyboard on Amazon. It should be arriving on Thursday. I just hope I didn't waste my money!
I also read where someone unplugged their HDD and was successful booting into BIOS but I have no idea how to do that.
If anyone can give me any advice on how to tackle this I would be forever grateful!
