I do regular backups to an external HD that is always online.
I plan to start doing periodic copies of critical folders/files to a pair of drives that will be swapped on & off-site.
"Portable" drives are a bit more convenient as they can use the USB power and dont need a brick.
My desktop is an X51. I just want to be sure it can deliver enough power for such a drive (eg WD Passport Portable drive) without tripping any fuses. This would be the only device drawing USB power (the other external drives have bricks).
Also any other possible issues using portable drive rather than normal external drive with power supply?
