System Not recognising OS

Hi guys,

I recently tried to install Linux Puppy on my Dell Studio XPS 16. It worked really well and the new OS is working nicely BUT the system is now no longer recognising the Windows Vista (yes I know....) OS and is failing to boot.

I have run diagnositics and received the error code 2000-042 which I understand to be a hard disc error yet when I fire up Puppy I can read my C:\ drive and view all files so I know that the Hard Disc itself (as a piece of hardware) is fine.

I suspect that I have managed to fry the driver (somehow) and now the boot system cannot run but I am more than willing to accept that I am wrong in this deduction.

What do I do?

Thanks

Morgan
