I have an Inspiron 15 3520 laptop which I am unable to boot. I started having this problem yesterday when my son lightly bumped into me while I was using the laptop. The system shut down immediately and everytime I've tried to reboot since then, I receive the error message "pxe-e61 media test failure, check cable"
So far I:
- Restored BIOS defaults
- Checked to make sure hard drive is being detected in BIOS [yes, listed as Fixed HDD ST320LT020-9yG142 (320 GB)]
- Checked to make sure hard drive is listed at the top of my boot priority
- Ran ePSA - no errors
- Ran Hard Drive Diagnostics - no errors
- Ran System Board Diagnostics - no errors
- Ran Diagnostic Symptom Tree tests for Cannot Boot the OS & Hard Drive Errors - no errors
My next idea was to run the Thorough Test Mode in the ePSA. Other than that, I'm afraid I've gone as far as googling will take me for the time being. Can anyone help? (The laptop is no longer covered under warranty). No excuses here- but I don't have any restore discs to use :/ Thanks in advance!
